Progressive Farming Division

SidAgri (Private) Limited specializes in developing uneven, low quality agricultural lands into modern farms. Following are some of the progressive agricultural projects developed by SidAgri Team:

i- SidAgri Model Farm

ii- Pandak Farms

iii- SidRanch Cholistan

iv- Precision Agricultural Project

I. SidAgri Model Farm

SidAgri Model Farm, Malak Mala, Tehsil Hazro is developed as an archetype for progressive farming in Pakistan. On a relatively small area, it has ultra high density forest variety Poplar Deltitus trees; nursery of high value, large ornamental and fruit plants; conventional crops grown through paradoxical agriculture method; and tunnel farming. This Model farm is used for training projects of SidAgri (Private) Limited. In a short span of time this model is replicated by several progressive farmers.

II. Pandak Farms

One of the major farming projects developed by SidAgri Team is Pandak Farms that uses solar and biogas energy to minimize its carbon footprints. Pandak Farms is also one of the best examples of using minimum water, nutrients, fertilizers and pesticides to grow high value vegetables, orchards and traditional crops. This flagship project was developed in sandy, uneven and arid zone of Attock district.

III. SidRanch Cholistan

SidAgri team has developed a sizeable agricultural and forestation project-SidRanch Cholistan, in Chak 63DB near Bahawalpur in South Punjab.

SidRanch Cholistan has a large forest and livestock farm in addition to growing traditional crops like grains, fodder and watermelons. The project is developed in the sand dunes of great Cholistan desert. This highly successful project is established on arid land, where water is scarce and the land is without much natural organic matter. Mostly brakish water is used for irrigation after acid or mineral treatment.

IV. Precision Agriculture Project

Precision Agriculture is a farming management concept based on observing, measuring and responding to inter and intra-field variability in crops through Digital Aerial Scouting.

Precision Agriculture seeks to use new technologies to increase crop yields and profitability while lowering the levels of traditional inputs needed to grow crops (land, water, fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides). In other words, farmers utilizing precision agriculture are using less to grow more.

As part of SidAgri Precision Agriculture Project, the data on health of associated farms is collected by drones equipped with infrared cameras. The gathered data and pictures provided precise information about pest attacks and the need for nutrients and fertilizers. The Precision Agriculture Services are available for hire from SidAgri.
